Just a random comparison of a Kuniyoshi samurai triptych and a slice of action from Frank Miller's Wolverine fighting off a band of ninja. There is another Kuniyoshi print that seems to be a possible much more apposite reference point for Miller's rooftop fight scenes, but couldn't find a decent jpeg of it...nevermind, the dynamism and directionality in these compositions hit the spot.
